How to look healthy?

“I always thought that to look good, we need to spend a couple of extra hours to dress-up.”

How on earth does those fashionistas look good everyday? We are so busy sometimes it’s hard to find time to match our clothes. Yes, sometimes we tell ourselves that, meh, we’re fine looking like hobos* (not the cool ones). But don’t we all feel so much better and confident when we look nicer? Don’t lie to me, or yourself. I know everyone wants to look nice.

I always thought that to look good, we need spend a couple of extra hours to dress-up. Have you ever felt tired to put in so much effort to prepare our outfits? I did. I got so fad up with it, which led me to do a little bit of study. And I was so blown away by these 3 tricks that made everyday dressing up so practical.

So here they are,

#1 Get those BASICS items

If you go to any clothing store, they usually have promotions for basics. Those mini tees, or inner wear. But that is not the only basics I’m talking about here. BASICS are the stuff and you can match with anything. Depends on what type of person you are, spend sometime to list out your preference. It’s important that you LOVE every single one of your basics because you’re going to use them often.

Rules of BASICS:

  1. Comfortable
  2. Durable
  3. In neutral colors: black, white, grey, nude or denim
  4. Stylish – as to your taste. Like i said, you gotta love it.
  5. Simple – because you want to match it with anything

Here’s my list of basics:

  • Jeans
  • Black pants/skirts
  • Plain t-shirt/tees/tank top/singlet
  • Leggings
  • White shirt
  • Plain scarfs
  • Long sleeves
  • Simple dress

#2 Pick a THEME

Have you ever hear of the term “Lala”? Lala is when someone is trying to be fashionable but wear the wrong items together, becomes a fashion disaster. So how do we avoid this? One word – THEME. Each of us has different taste, therefore only sticks to certain themes, This makes it WAY EASIER as you will know what to consider and what to exclude in your choices. This is also great rule for shopping – only buy the things suitable for your theme!

Rules of THEME:

  1. Only go with one/two theme
    • eg: classy pirate (yes, that came randomly in my head)
  2. Choose two matching colors
    • Maximum is three including the basic white/black/grey/nude
    • Refer picture below for color guide
  3. Theme first, color second
    • eg: ELEGANT CLASSY theme
    • Dusty pink + yellow. You have a yellow bulky sneaker. Avoid it.
  4. Pick one/two DOMINANT item.
    • If you plan to wear a super cool jacket, then choose between killer shoes or bold hijab.
    • If everything is over the top, it will become too overwhelming.

Here are some ideas on THEMES:

  • Classy
  • Elegant
  • Feminine
  • Sporty
  • Street/Rock
  • Casual/Comfy
  • Hippie
  • Bohemian
  • Gothic
  • Traditional

#3 FOCUS on your STRENGTH, hide your weakness

Everyone is not perfect, but to look almost perfect, we EMPHASIZE on the good qualities. This is where you need to look at your body type. Refer picture below. Of all steps, this is the trickiest one. But you only need to decide once when you’re buying the clothes in the first place.

Rules of FOCUS:

  1. Buy clothes of the RIGHT CUT & STYLE for your bodytype.
  2. Hide problem areas with lose clothes and avoid tightness or accessories there
  3. Bring attention to good features with accessories or dominant item
  4. Find a good CLOTHING RATIO for your body. ie: top length, pants/skirt waistline, neckline, etc

Important note:

#BONUS: The right HIJAB style

This is for all Muslim ladies out there. If you’re not wearing a headscarf, share this with your friend that does because girl, I know the struggle.

Here are two common mistakes from my observation:-

Common Hijab Mistakes to acknowledge:

  1. Choosing the wrong MATERIAL
    • You might already choose the right color, but when the material doesn’t match, it can go out of theme.
    • For example, you wanna look sporty but your hijab has sparkles and blings or is made of SATIN
  2. Wearing the wrong STYLE
    • I classify hijab styles to two types: FLOWY/FASHIONABLE vs NEAT/SIMPLE.
    • If you already wear dominant/stylist top, tone down your hijab to neat and simple.
    • If you wear simple top, spice up your look with fashionable hijab style

And that is ALL girls. Really simple, really practical. Let me know if this helps you and if you love this, spread the love 🙂

People always remember a person who looks presentable. A well-dressed and groomed individual leaves a good impression on others, which is appreciated by all. When you put in an effort to look presentable everyday, you can see that it makes a marked difference in your confidence.

To look presentable everyday is to treat yourself well. It’s normal and important to be concerned about aesthetics—to a certain degree. To be aware of your presentation means to be conscious about not only your outer appearance but also your internal health. No person can look good by merely dressing properly but ignoring their health. Therefore, it’s important to exercise so that the body remains fit and looking gorgeous.

Presentation and beauty is not about being conceited exclusively. It is very much related to health and wellness. It’s not surprising to know that an individual, who is neatly dressed is taken more seriously by employers than the one who is shabbily dressed in their outer appearance.

Here are six tips for you to follow to look presentable everyday.

Never compromise on hygiene

Never skip the essentials of personal hygiene. Always brush your teeth in the morning and before going to bed to prevent tooth decay as well as bad breath. You can also floss and use a mouthwash to keep any teeth related troubles at bay! Take proper showers everyday and always wear washed clothes. You can also carry a small deodorant for days when you get sweaty. Apart from these essentials, ensure to wear clean socks, never use a dirty comb and keep your nails trimmed.

Body language is important

A lot can be interpreted from how you act and react in the world. Tone, movements, gestures and actions are all part of the non-verbal language. Practice how can you sit properly and walk elegantly. Nobody likes sloppy movements or a slouchy person. Also remember that a good posture is important to convey confidence and keep your spine healthy. An upright back will make you look self-assured and ready to take on challenges. A great trick is to wear a corset as they help in maintaining a good posture and prevent slouching.

Get adequate sleep

Make sure to get proper sleep every night so that you feel rejuvenated. A sleepy body and mind are not productive. If you’re exhausted all the time because of inadequate rest, you will soon cease to function entirely. Nobody likes someone who is unfresh all the time. A sleep-deprived individual looks tired with dark circles and dull skin which will go against you.

Your outfit is important

Dress to impress. A well put-together outfit is one of the first impressions that you convey. Don’t wear unwashed or wrinkled clothes. Take some time while choosing your outfit and not just wear them randomly. Also, never ignore your footwear as it’s a part of your look. Ensure that your shoes are clean and go well with your outfit.

Hair is important

Regularly shampoo your tresses to keep them clean. Never leave the house without brushing them. You can also carry out DIY masks at home or visit the salon for treatments. Your mane can say a lot of things about you. A presentable person will never leave the house without properly setting their hair. Your entire look depends on it.

Work your makeup magic

Women look better when they wear some makeup. It adds colour on the face and can also hide any flaws. You don’t necessarily have to go for a full on glam look everyday (save that for special occasions). Keep it natural for regular wear and you are ready to go. Well blended makeup will make you look proper and refine.

7 Easy Daily Habits That Will Make You Look Incredibly Put Together With Almost No Effort

Looking “put together” is an effort. I work from home so being put together isn’t much of a concern, but on the odd day when I have to step into the office or have a face-to-face meeting, I scramble to make myself look like I spent time planning to look good. Because I’m not someone who likes to spend a lot of time getting ready (I literally have my routine down to fifteen minutes), there are some habits I’ve picked up in order to look put together with the minimum amount of effort or strain possible. They’re just simple little habits that, when all mushed together, make me look like I stepped out of a salon. Well, maybe the results aren’t that good, but you know what I mean—I don’t look like a hot mess. Which, ultimately, is about not feeling like a hot mess.

I’m not saying we should obsess about our looks for the benefit of other people. Being “put together” isn’t about appearing a certain way (whatever look it happens to be that you’re going for) for any audience; It’s about feeling a certain way. When your physical being is tidy, organized, and properly moisturized, there’s an undeniable mirror effect projected onto your overall mental state. In other words, we strive to look put together physically so that we might possibly feel put together mentally, and then proceed to go forth and kick ass at life.

What I’m trying to say is it doesn’t always take a village. Sometimes, it just takes one girl with the will to wash herself and pull a brush through her hair. Looking put together isn’t as much of a task as you might think it is. Considering that many people put a lot of effort into NOT looking put together (think Olsen twin-chic), the logic should follow that you don’t need to put that much effort into looking put together (it makes sense in my head!). Here are 7 easy daily habits you can incorporate into your routine that will help you look incredibly put together.

This might seem obvious to you but there’s a strange breed of people who shower before bed rather than in the morning. Don’t be that person. Always shower in the morning. I realize that I’m about to spark some intense debate with this statement, but I stand by it. Team Shower In The Morning for life.

Do Your Hair

I know the “Is she an off-duty model or just a bored Soho girl?” look requires messy, partially dreadlocked, I-don’t-care-about-my-matted-flyaway-hair hair and is some kind of hot look. But I promise you, 99.9% of women don’t look glamorous when they attempt to pull it off—they just end up looking like a gypsy who doesn’t own a hair brush. At the very least, brush your hair in the morning. If it’s kicking out in a weird way and you don’t have time to fix it, or it’s oily and dirty and you don’t have time to wash, pull it into a low pony at the nape of your neck, or a high bun. Takes 30 seconds to make your hair look presentable. (It’s not hard to go from “been campin'” chic to actual chic, you guys. Give it a whirl.)

Wear Black

Black is the new black. Black on black on black on black. All black everything. Black leather boots, black tights, black skirt, black jeans, black t-shirt, black sweater, black blazer. If you’re a normal person, you probably have some variation on all of these in your wardrobe. Black instantly makes you look cool, and wearing lots of black is the simplest way to look sophisticated but like you didn’t try too hard to look that sophisticated.

Run a Lint Roller All Over Yourself

Nothing says “I’ve got this” than lint-free clothing. Especially when you’re wearing all black, visible white fibers are a great way to say, “This old thing? Yeah, I just got this off a pile on the floor of my bedroom/fished it back out of the laundry basket.” With a lint roller, even when those things are true, no one will know. Fool everyone with the mighty power of the lint roller.

As with lint, creases in your clothes are a dead giveaway that you’re struggling. For a quick fix, take your clothes into the morning shower with you and hang them up somewhere away from the water but where they will catch the steam coming off it. Better yet, use the steam function on your iron or buy a steamer (I have a travel one that only cost $20), because steaming is fast and far less arduous that ironing.

Wear Natural Makeup

Part of looking put together is simply looking fresh. Bags under your eyes do not equal “put together”—but neither does overdone eye makeup. It’s as easy as a dash of tinted moisturizer, a dot of concealer and a sweep of mascara to take yourself from “just got out of bed” to “ready for this meeting”.

Or Red Lipstick

Women in meticulously-applied red lipstick always look so in control to me. With barely there makeup on your face, bold lipstick makes several statements: “I am here,” “I know I am here,” and “I cared enough about being here that I made my lips look this hot.” Bright lipstick is an easy way to make an entrance without spending a great deal of time or effort. For the minute it takes to apply, it will bring back put togetherness upon you 100 fold, because lipstick is that extra little touch that just screams “I’VE GOT IT ALL WORKED OUT.”

Top 10 Daily Habits for Beautiful, Healthy Skin

Many people spend a fortune on cosmetics and skin care products hoping to achieve a good complexion. What they fail to realize, however, is that healthy and beautiful skin begins with a good skincare routine.

A study on the evolving role of skincare revealed this fact. In the research it was found that one’s daily skin care routine has a positive impact on the overall quality of a person’s complexion, especially if it is supported by effective products.

To help you on your quest for a beautiful and radiant complexion, here are 10 daily skin care habits that you should practice for healthy, radiant skin:

1. Drink Plenty of Water

Drinking tons of water is not only the most basic skin care habit but a key habit for maintaining general physical health as well. The cells in our body are mostly made up of water and water plays a critical role in maintaining physiological balance. Considering these facts alone, scientists have long explored the association between water and healthy complexion.

Drinking water will not only satiate your thirst but will keep your skin properly hydrated as well. One recent study published in the Journal of Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology supports the skin-hydrating effects of drinking plenty of water.

In the clinical trial, 49 healthy women were grouped in two. The subjects in one group were made to drink at least 5.2 liters of water a day while the other group only drank less than 3.2 liters of water daily. After observing and testing the subject’s skin hydration for a month, the researchers concluded that consuming a high volume of water daily significantly increases the hydration level of the skin.

Well-hydrated skin is clear with barely visible pores, almost no imperfections, and radiant. So instead of consuming coffee, juice, or other sweetened drinks, it’s best to drink water. Apart from its skin benefits, water is free of calories and drinking more of it can help you skip drinks that are full of calories, thus helping you maintain a healthy weight.

2. Apply Sunscreen

Sunscreen is any substance or product that protects your skin from the damaging effects of sun’s ultraviolet rays. While the sun’s rays can make you feel more energetic and attractive when you get a tan, you should avoid going out without wearing sunscreen.

Exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays negatively impacts the condition of your skin. In fact, most of the signs that are associated with skin aging are more often effects of prolonged exposure to sunlight that one’s actual age.

UV rays damage the skin’s elastic and collagen tissue which results in skin sagging, stretching, and wrinkles. It also causes freckles, skin discoloration, age spots, and even skin cancer. Imagine what your skin must go through when you go out under the sun without sunscreen protection.

For many years, sunscreen has been known primarily for effectively protecting the skin from developing premature signs of skin aging. A recent study, however, revealed that continuous application of sunscreen even provides beneficial effects on the photoaged skin (or damaged skin due to sun exposure). Researchers discovered that subjects who continuously wear sunscreen for 18 months experience significant improvement in their skin condition.

Note, however, that sunscreen only works if you choose the right one and if you apply it correctly. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends a sunscreen product with SPF of 30 or higher, water-resistant, and provides protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Make sure to apply a generous amount of sunscreen to all exposed skin 15 minutes before you go out and to reapply every two hours to stay protected.

3. Eat Healthy

Your skin condition is a reflection of what is going on inside your body, which means to have a gorgeous and radiant complexion, you should properly nourish your body. This fact had long been established as many nutrition experts have shown the positive connection between good nutrition and young-looking skin.

Given this fact, you should include eating skin-friendly foods in your skin care routine. Such foods include fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C. This vitamin is known for its potent antioxidant that protects the skin from harmful effects of free radicals. Vitamin C is also known to promote faster skin healing and in improving skin texture.

Other nutrients that will do wonders for your skin also include vitamins A, E, and K, selenium, omega-3, zinc, and monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats (good fats). So, the next time you create your menu plan, make sure to include healthy servings of foods packed with these nutrients.

4. Take Beauty Supplements

Eating your way to a fabulous skin is effective; however, you must admit that it is difficult to consume all the nutrients your skin needs from the food you eat alone. Your skin is the largest organ of your body, which is why it demands more vitamins and minerals to stay healthy.

Your skin is readily exposed to numerous environmental factors that cause premature skin aging. So, apart from increasing your daily vegetable and fruit intake, it can be helpful to take supplements that benefit the skin. Popular supplements for skin include multivitamins especially ones with vitamin E and biotin, antioxidants like resveratrol and hydration agents like hyaluronic acid and collagen.

Many researchers showed that both oral and topical beauty supplements can help improve the quality and health of your skin. One study on the effects of an antioxidant supplement on skin radiance of women revealed positive effects. The women who underwent the trial have reduced skin imperfections, increased skin firmness, and more glowing skin after given a continuous daily dose of an antioxidant-rich oral supplement.

Application of ingredients like almond, chamomile, green tea, and other botanical sources can also provide skin caring benefits. Natural oils are packed with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and other properties that help prevent and treat skin issues.

5. Cleansing Before Bed

An essential part of any skin care routine is cleansing. Since ancient times, people have been cleaning their skin to improve its health and appearance. While the methods of cleansing have changed, the basic principle remains the same – your skin needs cleaning.

You may not be aware of it, but your makeup is a carrier of free radicals in the environment. Even if you don’t wear makeup, skin collects dust and dirt throughout the day that sit on skin along with your sweat and sebum.

When you fail to clean skin before going to bed, your skin is basically “sleeping with” free radicals. Exposure to free radicals damages the healthy collagen in your skin resulting in fine lines and wrinkles.

Apart from subjecting your skin to the damage, your facial pores can also get clogged because of makeup and oils. When this happens, your skin becomes susceptible to acne break outs, enlarged pores and other skin issues.

Facial cleansing is crucial to maintaining healthy and flawless complexion. So, the next time you are tempted to sleep with your makeup on, think about the harmful consequences and grab your facial cleanser or at least micellar water or a face cleansing wipe.

6. Get Enough Sleep

Getting enough sleep (at least 7 hours) and not merely sleeping should be an important component of your skin care habits. Whether you have read studies or not, the link between good sleep and skin condition is obvious. Try sleeping just a few hours each night and you will soon feel and see negative changes in your complexion.

The strong association between getting enough sleep and skin condition was stressed even further by the results of a study on common sleep disorders and dermatological conditions. The same revealed that people who suffer from sleep disorders are more susceptible to experiencing skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, and skin aging.

Sleeping is important for a healthy complexion because it is only during deep and prolonged sleep can your cells regenerate, and damaged cells get repaired. Interrupting this process means your skin hardly regenerates, resulting in visible signs of aging skin. Give your skin a chance to stay young by getting your beauty rest.

7. Manage Your Stress

Psychological stress is one of the leading causes of many illnesses and negatively affects your skin condition. When you are stressed, your body activates “emergency” physiological responses to help you cope. Unfortunately, prolonged activation of these responses can result in skin aging, among others.

A study on published on Dermatology Online Journal revealed that psychological stress is directly linked to skin aging. Stress causes a dysfunction of the immune system, damage to DNA, as well as endocrine and immune modulation – all of which contribute to skin aging.

Apart from skin aging, your skin also becomes more susceptible to microbial infection when you’re constantly stressed. One clinical investigation showed that stress disturbs the antimicrobial function of the epidermis or the outer layer of the skin. Because of the disruption of the skin’s defense system, it becomes prone to infection.

Prevent all these negative effects from happening by including stress management in your skin care routine. Do breathing exercises, listen to music, or try aromatherapy to relieve yourself from stress. Topical application of essential oils like sweet almond and chamomile can also help you in this area.

8. Use a Moisturizer

Some people think that applying a moisturizer is mainly for aesthetic purposes when in fact, it is a vital part of skin care. Your skin is the most exposed part of your body and this exposure can lead to dryness and loss of moisture.

Applying moisturizer is needed to replenish the skin’s lost moisture and natural oils, especially after cleansing, toning, or exfoliating. Skin that is well-moisturized is soft, smooth, brighter, and more youthful-looking. Skin that is lacking in moisture, on the other hand, is dry, dull, and scaly – in other words, unattractive.

If you are hesitant to include moisturizing in your daily skin care regimen because you have oily skin or live in a humid environment, note that dermatologists say you still should. However, instead of using moisturizing products that are cream based, opt for a lighter lotion or serum with humectants like hyaluronic acid. For added protection, use a moisturizer with sunscreen.

9. Keep Your Body Moving

While exercise is more commonly associated with losing weight, more and more people are discovering how it promotes healthy and youthful-looking skin. If you doubt this fact, just observe athletes or those who live an active lifestyle; don’t they look much younger and have better skin?

Exercise aids in better blood circulation. When you walk, jog, or dance, your body increases its blood flow. When this happens the nutrients in the blood are better delivered to your skin cells, which mean your skin becomes well-nourished. Moreover, the efficient blood flow aids in detoxifying your system resulting in a better complexion.

If in case you suffer from skin inflammatory diseases like eczema and psoriasis, you should take extra precaution when exercising because the increase in your body temperature can exacerbate your condition. To avoid discomfort, make sure to exercise in a cool environment like an air-conditioned gym or jogging at night instead of daytime. Avoid swimming as well since the chlorine in the water can aggravate some of your symptoms.

10. Use Skin Products Made From Natural Ingredients

Your daily skin care regimen will never be complete without skin care products. Contrary to what many people believe, everyone needs and uses such products whether they are aware of it or not. When using skin products, be sure that they contain mostly natural ingredients.

Skin care products made from botanical ingredients are safe, provide anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial benefits, and are even earth-friendly. On the other hand, products that contain mostly man-made chemicals like parabens, sulfates, pthalates and formaldehyde can trigger skin conditions and damage your skin.

To ensure that you will only be using skin care products derived from nature, make it a habit to read the label. If you notice toxic chemicals in the ingredients list, avoid the product at all cost.

IN CONCLUSION – 10 Daily Habits for Beautiful, Healthy Skin

All the basic skin care tips mentioned above may appear too mundane to make an impact, but they are backed up by science. If you think you might be willing to undergo painful dermatological procedures just to get more youthful-looking skin, why not try these simple things that can help you achieve the same results?

Even Hollywood celebrities vow that the above-mentioned skin care routine works. However, note that the skin-improving effects can only be experienced if you make these habits part of your daily beauty routine. Ultimately, when it comes to skin care, consistency is always the key!

11 Tips that will make your face look healthier and cleaner

Your skin is the single largest organ of your body. It covers every inch of you and it’s no where more prominent and noticeable than your face. So, if your goal for 2015 is to start looking and feeling much healthier it’s time you pay more attention to your skin and face.

Vibrant skin on your face is not only a sign of good health but is also incredibly important to make you look more attractive.

Achieving glowing and vibrant skin is everyone’s goal to looking and feeling better but this is easier said than done. Whatever is going on inside your body, such as stress, emotional distress, bad diet or illness, will ultimately manifest itself on your face. Prolonged issues with your body could be unhealthy in the long run.

So, how do we start to improve the skin on our face? What are the steps involved? How long does it take? And will the results be permanent?

All these and many more questions will be answered in this section. We will delve into the basics of facial skin care and then suggest 11 essential tips for you to start improving your skin and making changes to how you look.

Some Skin Care Basics for your Face

To understand facial skin care you must first understand your body’s skin deeply. This is often confusing and like me you may have a lot of questions when you first start out. But I assure you its simply a case of observing how your skin behaves in day-to-day life and taking steps to counteract the harmful things that tend to happen to it.

Figure out if your skin is excessively dry or excessively oily and how different products affect the look and feel of it. Then continue to experiment with products recommended by dermatologists and see which suits you best.

Here’s a general list of the products you may need to maintain your skin on a daily basis:

  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Exfoliate
  • Acne treatment (if needed)
  • Anti aging treatment (if needed)

Water alone is not enough to clean your face skin adequately. Therefore, using a cleanser will remove the dirt, oil and debris that settles in the pores of your skin while also removing make up (if you put any). Cleansers are needed to clear the skin for further treatment.

Toners are then used to hydrate the skin and replenish its nutrients efficiently after the cleansing process is complete. You skin needs this hydration to maintain its youthful and healthy appearance.

Hydrate and Protect your skin

Now its time to go much deeper. You’ve cleaned your face superficially and toned it for rehydration. Prolonged exposure to the sun and acne outbreaks have thicken the top layer of your skin. The top most layer is now essentially a layer of dead skin that is clogging up your pores.

The process of exfoliation is the removal of this layer of dead skin with a quick reacting chemical agent. This treatment also targets blackheads and removes them from the surface of your facial skin.

At this point it is important for you to focus on issues specific to you.

  • So if you need sunscreen apply it for protection against the sun.
  • If you have frequent and severe outbreaks of acne find a dermatologist who can recommend products to destroy the acne causing bacteria on your skin and lessen the redness.
  • If you are older, then consider using anti aging treatments to counteract the onset of wrinkles.
  • Some anti aging products also have moisturizers or sunscreen elements in them. See what suits you best and purchase it.

Once you’ve understood your skin and the products that suit you, it’s a good idea to consider developing a set routine of using the cleanser, toner, exfoliate and other treatments daily in the morning and evening after shaving your face. Use the ones you need when you wake up and then again before going to bed to see best results.

Here’s our list of the top 11 tips to make your face look healthier and cleaner.

1) Maintain a balance of hydration and oil

Constantly bombarding your facial skin with products and cleaners will not only fail to give you the desired results but also potentially damage your face. Your face naturally produces oils and moisture from the pores. Do not hamper this natural process but maintain a balance with the proper use of hydrating and oil enhancing products. Remember, the most natural solution is often the best solution. Try to use products specific to oily or dry skin.

2) Take time to find the best products

In today’s day and age, getting information about what you want to buy is not only simple but also remarkably quick. Everything you need to know is just a click away. Do your research while looking for skin care products and ideally consult an expert such as a dermatologist or aesthetician for recommendations on the products you need to use.

3) Wash your hands

This tip is one of the most crucial but also most commonly overlooked. Your hands come into contact with an incredibly large number of surfaces and germs throughout the day. You are also prone to touching your face all the time. So your best bet is to either wash your hands regularly or break the habit of touching your face so frequently.

4) Eat better

No other piece of advice will help you as much as this one. You must remember, the issues on your face and skin are only an outward manifestation of what’s going on inside you. If you suffer from prolonged stress or bad dietary habits make efforts to change these right away. Eat more greens and vegetables to improve your digestion and those added nutrients will make your skin glow in a short while.

5) Don’t use soap

Gone are the days when a bar of mainstream soap was all you needed to keep yourself clean. In fact, a lot of people have stopped applying soap due to the harmful pH concentrations in most of them. Use a gentle cleanser for cleaning out the pores of your face without causing any damage.

6) Use the toner right after the cleanser

While it is recommended to use a cleanser daily, the process dries out your skin. The skin losing moisture is not ideal so you must try to use a toner to replenish the moisture and nutrients to your skin. This will maintain a lush and youthful look for you.

7) Moisturize

Some are afraid of oil based moisturizers bug this fear is only justified if your skin is acne prone. If you don’t have oily skin or you’re not particularly susceptible to acne then do not be afraid of oil. It’s in fact good for your skin. Now, moisturize on a daily basis to maintain the skin’s healthy look and feel. Also use specific SPF solutions at different times of the day and night for best results.

8) Use eye cream regardless of what age you are.

Eye cream isn’t only for people looking to appear younger. You are susceptible to bags under your eyes after a few long nights or lack of sleep. Also some people just tend to ignore the part of their face right below their eyes till it’s too late and they start noticing wrinkles when they’re much older. So start using eye creams regardless of your age now.

9) Exercise

The single most important solution for any of your health related issues is to exercise. In terms of skin care jogging or swimming will increase the amount of oxygen your lungs can hold and also replenish your blood circulation. Both these elements are the key to improving the vitality and vibrancy of your face. As blood circulates more freely your face will be brighter.

Specific poses of yoga are also targeted towards increasing blood flow to the face so you could give it a try.

10) Exfoliate once per week

As we’ve mentioned before, exfoliation is the process of removing the layer of dead skin present on the top most part of your skin. Though it is extremely important to exfoliate your skin you cannot do this too often. Stick to a set regime of exfoliating. Once per week should be more than enough especially if you haven’t done it so far.

11) Don’t forget your lips

The final tip for a healthier and cleaner looking face is for that part of your face which may get overlooked if you focus too much on products meant for the skin. You cannot ignore your lips when trying to make your face look better. Apply a lip balm to hydrate the lips when needed and keep your lips free from cracks and cuts for an overall healthy look on your face.

Wrapping Up

These are only a few tips to help you maintain the health and look of your face but there are a ton of other tips that could help you towards your goal of improving your appearance. Look younger and healthier is a commendable goal for everyone.

As an adult trapped in the MNC culture, I have to say that keeping fresh is easier said than done. We are all stuck in the mundane ups and downs of life without any time for ourselves. And our motto has boiled down to rushing out of the house at the last minute and somehow just getting through the day, regardless of how we feel. We do very little to keep ourselves rejuvenated, upbeat and energetic in the process!

Here are 19 easy ways to look better instantly in 2019 and beyond!

By: Nada Manley, Beauty Mommy

I used to love makeover shows, but I was always slightly dejected when each episode was over. There was no miraculous makeover in the cards for me. There was no easy way for me to look better instantly. I was already giving it everything I had. But was I really? Sure, I was doing most of the big stuff, from semi-regular haircuts to flattering everyday makeup, but some of the smaller stuff had fallen through the cracks. Fortunately, I’ve learned, and that’s why I compiled this list of the little things; small improvements that yield big results. And here they are.

Nothing makes you look prettier and more approachable than a bright, healthy smile. As Charla Krupp once famously proclaimed, yellow teeth are aging! Fortunately, they are so easy to fix! A friend recently told me that she gets her teeth professionally cleaned at the dentist’s office three times a year instead of twice, and I immediately decided to do the same thing. If you don’t want to invest in a professional whitening treatment, use an at-home whitening system or a portable tooth whitening pen. Another tip? Try cool, blue-based lipcolors (cherry, raspberry, wine) instead of warm tones (coral) to counteract the yellow in your teeth, or try a gloss designed to help your teeth look whiter.

2. Change Up Your Manicure

I am not saying that there is anything wrong with acrylic nails. Wait, yes, yes I am. I know this is controversial, but thick, long, squared-off nails are dated. The trendiest talons now are delicate, whether short and delicate or longer and slightly almond-shaped at the tip. Don’t be afraid to break out of the French manicure box. There are so many chic, wearable manicure ideas out there that are neutral and more updated. Classic red, coral or sheer pink nails are always chic. Or if you’re looking for something funkier, try painting all of your nails in one solid color, and then adding a sparkly topcoat to a single nail on each hand, or try a colorful new nail wrap like the ones from Jamberry.

3. Ditch the Boring Bag

Your bag should be a beautiful, high-quality statement piece. It should not be boring, or frumpy, or dated. After all, you carry it every day, and a blah bag can bring down your whole outfit. A stiff bag with a faux exotic print embossed onto the leather looks so dated. Invest in a status bag, if you can, or, for more affordable options that are still on-point stylewise, look to lines like Z Spoke from Zac Posen, Michael Kors, and Rebecca Minkoff. Avoid faux texture, tons of exterior pockets, and a boring shape in a boring color, like beige. For an investment piece, choose a black or camel bag in a strong, elegant shape with minimal detail and hardware.

4. Lower Your Vamp

High vamp shoes (those that cover more of the top of your foot) can be cool, or edgy, or funky, but they are rarely feminine or delicate. Furthermore, thin straps are prettier than thick straps, no matter what the Birkenstock wearers say. And while the new ugly shoes may, arguably, have a place in the wardrobe of a 20-year-old hipster, after a certain age, they look like comfort shoes – the very antithesis of cute. So skip the flatforms and shower slides, the Tevas and the Birkenstocks, and stick with classic but still comfortable options like thong sandals, ballet flats (square toes or pointy toes are both trendy), or gladiators. Call me old-fashioned, but I like pretty.

5. Lose the Platform Flops

Yes, this is closely related to #4, but I feel so strongly about this that I decided to give it its own category. Flip flops should be flat. Ditch the styles with the thick black rubber platform soles and go for a classic pair of Havaianas. While you’re at it, toss any old flip flops with the black nylon straps and black soles. There are so many options that are equally affordable and comfortable, yet far more stylish.

6. Grow Your Hair Out

Some women immediately cut their hair after having kids. It’s like a rite of passage. 1. Have baby. 2. Buy yoga pants. 3. Chop hair off.

But there is another way. You can have a baby. Wear cute clothes. And style your hair however you want it. Within reason. We all make trade-offs. I decided keratin was too high-maintenance for my current lifestyle, and I embraced my curls, but I didn’t cut it off, because my hair looks better long. The key is to pick a pretty, flattering style that you can maintain, whether it’s long or short.

7. Ditch the Baggy Clothes

So, so, so many women think they are bigger than they are. They wear long baggy tees and slouchy sweatshirts in an attempt to hide it, which actually ends up making them look bigger. Next time you’re shopping, try the smaller size. Or, if you are used to wearing your clothes a little too snug, try the next size up. Clothes that don’t fit are unflattering, unattractive, and most of all, aging.

8. Upgrade your Denim

I find that there’s plenty of room for trendy, disposable denim in a girl’s life. The boyfriend jeans, the updated “mom” jeans, the high-waisted jeans — all these are of-the-moment trends and are best bought at discount prices, either at thrift stores, off-price stores, or fast fashion outlets like H&M. Don’t spend a lot on anything with a short shelf life. The dark-wash skinny jean is today’s answer to the boot cut: sleek, flattering to many, and versatile enough to dress up or down. It is the new classic, and should be an investment piece. Plan to spend 2-3 times as much on these, and look for premium labels like Joe’s, AG, and Seven for All Mankind.

9. And your Bra

I know you think your tired, stretched-out, old bra is fine. It isn’t. Unless you struggle to fill in an A-cup, you need some support. The right bra will make absolutely everything you wear look a million times more expensive. You will look taller, slimmer, and chic-er. If you’re a full B-cup or higher, an underwire is required, not optional; and if you can only choose one bra, pick a seamless neutral style with convertible straps for maximum versatility. And if you don’t have a high-end department store in town, go bra shopping online at innovative retailers like Brayola, True & Co., and Third Love.

10. Pick a Fresh New Lipcolor

So we’ve heard how a too-dark, too-matte lipstick can age you, and how the opposite – a nude, washed out lip – is also true. Your best pick? An ultra-hydrating color with a little bit of sheen in a mid-toned flattering color. Whether you prefer the subtlety of a lip stain or the pop of a bolder shade, make sure the color complements your skin tone and brightens your complexion.

11. Groom your Brows

You know how you feel when they look straggly. Prevent that from happening by regular rearview mirror checks. I find that the angle of the rearview mirror, combined with natural light, is the best place to pluck stray hairs as they arise and keep your brows neat and groomed. Keep a pair of tweezers in your glove compartment and touch up your brows whenever you have a spare moment! But never, of course, while actually driving.

12. Buy a Cute Pair of Sneakers

Even if you don’t work out. Especially if you don’t work out. Trainers are trendy right now, and just the thing for long days of family travel or hiking around an amusement park. Of course I’m not talking about your worn out running shoes here. Make them count. Make them cute! Then they’ll look like an intentional part of your look and not just an afterthought.

13. Use Sunscreen

Every day. Even when it’s gray. Use an antioxidant-packed formula on the face, neck, chest, ears and back of the neck every morning, and a body lotion with SPF on extremities. In sunnier months, switch your regular hand cream for a moisturizing sunscreen. If you want the protection without the greasiness, try a sunscreen stick, like the Age Shield Hand Balm from Rodan + Fields.

14. Wear Dishwashing Gloves

Not a glamorous subject, but we all wash dishes, and all that soap and hot water and scrubbing can take its toll, and make hands look older. I keep a hand-lotion pump next to my kitchen sink, and apply a quick dab to the backs of hands before slipping on my girly dishwashing gloves. It’s like a little spa treatment! Okay, it’s nothing like a spa treatment, but it’s the best I can do, most days.

15. Find a Great Skincare Routine

As a beauty writer, I have never had a shortage of skincare products on hand, but all that choice can be confusing, to you and to your skin. You don’t need more products. You just need a few well-chosen ones that cover all of your bases. One way to do this is to pick your entire skincare routine from the same company, since the products are designed to work synergistically. And if you are just getting started, keep it simple: a gentle cleanser, an anti-aging cream with SPF for day, and an anti-aging cream for evening. After it becomes a habit, add more products as needed, like an eye cream or a mask. For more tips on choosing and using a skincare routine, check out my new book on the topic, filled with tips from the top skincare experts.

16. Get Botox

When it comes to treatments that can treat current wrinkles while preventing future ones, Botox tops the list. And it doesn’t have to mean frozen face. Get a recommendation from a trusted friend for a derm known for his minimalist approach. Just the tiniest bit will leave you line-free and relaxed-looking for months, and no one needs to know. So what are you waiting for?

17. Use a Skin-Firming Body Cream

I have been told that a cream can’t take the place of exercise, but who has time for that kind of negativity? I personally love the way firming creams leave skin taut, glowing, and, well, firm. I am always on the hunt for the perfect all-purpose body cream, one that makes you firm and glowy, with just a hint of color. Jergens BB cream checks all the boxes, and it’s so affordable! Aveeno, Nivea, and Palmer’s are also good options.

18. Curl Your Lashes

You might not think you need to curl your lashes. You do. Trust me. I have long, dark, curly-ish lashes and was convinced they didn’t need curling, until I tried it. Now I look back on those pre-lash-curling days and shudder. What a waste. Don’t let this happen to you. Curl your lashes, and you’ll be hooked by how bright and wide-awake it makes you look! The best curler is from Shu Uemura. Don’t waste your money on any other.

19. Discover Coconut Oil

A long time ago, I read that Sophia Loren used to smooth olive oil on her body to keep it soft and youthful, and much as I wanted her skin, I balked. I didn’t want to smell like a salad. Fortunately, with coconut oil, there’s no odd smell. Only a mild slightly tropical aroma that I love. I have been using coconut oil on my face, body and hair for several years now, and I am obsessed. Addicted. My favorite brand is DeRigueur, which is pure, organic, and packaged in a tub so big you could practically soak in it. It absorbs quickly so you get smooth, hydrated skin, without greasiness. I use it to remove makeup, moisturize my dry legs, and calm the frizz in my hair.

As promised, most of these 19 easy ways to look better instantly are small changes you can make today that will lead to a brighter, fresher, more stylish you tomorrow.

Everyone’s idea of “best” is different. After all, we all have different styles, different ideas of beauty, and different standards that we put on ourselves.

But whatever you think is best-looking, there are certain things that you can do to maintain your confidence and ensure that you look your absolute best.

Read more after the jump:

Wear your favorite pieces of clothing

In an ideal world, your closet is filled with only your favorite pieces: that skirt that flatters you, those pants that make you feel sexy, that t-shirt that looks casual and chic at the same time, and that dress that you feel was made just for you (even if it wasn’t!).

But this is not always the case, so if you haven’t already, you should have a mental list of pieces or outfits that make you look and feel good. This also works with templates: regularly wearing certain combinations and certain silhouettes that you know work for you.

And for those days where you don’t feel like experimenting or you feel like you have nothing to wear, you can simply fall back to these formulas and rest assured that you’re going out that door looking your best.

Don’t underestimate messy hair

This, of course, doesn’t refer to unclean, unkempt hair. This is the kind of hairstyle that looks messy and glamorous at the same time. We know, it’s much harder to achieve than it looks.

But one sure way to look better is to have thick, voluminous hair or even a hairstyle that emulates that. This look is often associated with health and vitality, so remember this the next time you decide to pass on some dry shampoo.

Maintain a healthy routine

While you should have a healthy lifestyle for a lot of reasons, looking your best should be one more reason to squeeze in that quick workout.

Eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water, get enough sleep, and make sure to exercise once in a while. If you want to take it a step further, you can even invest in some nutritional supplements like those from Premier Research Labs. It’s okay to get all the help you can get anyway.

Keep your teeth white

It might be such a minor thing, but keeping your teeth clean and white can be a little challenging sometimes, even if you do regularly practice good dental hygiene. Sometimes it’s more than that, and can even be affected by what you’re eating and drinking (yes, that cup of coffee can contribute as well).

So before you go and skip that dentist appointment, remember that having clean, white teeth can be an indicator of good health to others and can even make you seem more attractive.

Exude confidence

All these things will fall flat if you aren’t confident in your own skin. We tend to be very critical of the way we look, so try to dial that back down a bit and try to fake it til you make it.

While looking great is an instant confidence booster, the opposite also holds true. Being confident, maintaining eye contact with other people, and having open body language will definitely make you look your best.

1. Eat Your Way To Glowing Skin

The phrase “You are what you eat” couldn’t be more accurate. A nutritious diet is a fool-proof way to achieving healthy skin. Make sure you add fruits and vegetables to your daily intake. Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids like flax seeds, walnuts and vitamin-enriched foods like oranges, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin are a must. Also include foods that are high in protein like eggs, chicken, kidney beans, lentils, chickpeas and cottage cheese. A wholesome diet does the job on its own to keep you radiant and healthy from within by giving your body all that it requires.

2. Drink Plenty of Water

We can’t stress enough on the importance of H2O. Every system and function in our body relies on water. Carry a bottle of water with you wherever you go and keep yourself hydrated through the day. Drinking a minimum of 8 or more glasses of water helps flush out toxins from your body, and hence your skin looks plumper and livelier. It also helps keep wrinkles at bay.

The best way to consume water is to fill up a bottle with cucumbers, lemons, zucchinis, mint leaves and other such brightly colored veggies and make your detox water to drink on-the-go. Doing this gives you the nutrients as well as the hydration to help your body utilize and hold onto the water more efficiently.

3. Sleep In Peace

A good night’s sleep goes hand-in-hand with how you look and feel. It’s crucial because your body repairs itself while you sleep. Just like you need to charge your cell phone, your body needs to charge itself and to go through the day with your battery at 50 percent, only leads to added strain and inefficiency. 6-8 hours of quality sleep is vital for you to wake up feeling and looking great. By doing this, you will have a glowing complexion, less of those dreaded dark circles under your eyes and you’ll slow down your aging process. The skin produces new collagen when you sleep. Don’t let anything in the world come in the way of you and your beauty sleep!

Back To TOC

4. Be Ingredient Conscious

Ingredient-conscious beauty is a thing. Yes! Just like what you put inside your body affects your overall health, what you put on the surface does the same. Your skin absorbs 60 percent of the stuff you put on so make sure you do some research on the ingredients that are present in your skin care, hair care, and beauty products. Keep away from products that contain parabens, petrochemicals, and sulfates that may cause irritation to your skin or make your hair dry and frizzy. It’s best to stick to products that contain natural ingredients.

5. Working Out To Healthy Skin

Physical activity is so essential, both for your physical as well as mental health. Do something – whatever your jam is – be it hitting the gym, running, doing yoga or going swimming. Scientifically, it is proven that exercise benefits your skin and improves your mood. A minimum of three hours of physical activity per week will result in improving your health. It improves your blood circulation, helps get rid of toxins, increases the amount of oxygen delivered to your skin, provides a boost of endorphins that reduce stress and calm your entire body, including your skin! However, if you’re heading out to the park for a run, never ever forget to wear sunscreen.

Back To TOC

6. Stick To A Consistent Skin Care Routine

You need to know your skin type and find a skin care routine that works for you. The CTM routine that is cleansing, toning and moisturizing are imperative for healthy skin. The kind of products you use to follow this method wholly depends on your skin type. Follow a consistent morning and night routine, and we guarantee that you will see a drastic improvement in your skin’s appearance. Also, do not, under any circumstances, go to bed without adequately cleansing it out. You will only invite a whole bunch of problems for your skin. Use a hand cream and body lotion for your hands and legs.

Back To TOC

7. Exfoliation Is Key

Make exfoliation a vital part of your skincare regime. It indeed is the key to radiant skin. Your skin is always shedding dead cells from the surface which helps in renewing itself with fresh and healthy cells. Give this natural process a helping hand by using a mild exfoliator. An excess of dead cells sitting on the surface of your skin can lead to clogged pores, blackheads, acne and pimples. When you inculcate exfoliation into your regime, your serums and moisturizers are better absorbed into the skin making them work more efficiently. Opt for gentle scrubs or create your own natural scrubs at home using ingredients like gram flour or a coffee scrub. Keep exfoliation to a maximum of twice a week. You will see visible improvement in the health of your skin – it will look fresher and smoother.

Back To TOC

8. Make Sunscreen Mandatory

Sunscreen is not an option. The Sun’s UVA, UVB and UVC rays are the primary cause of premature aging of the skin. If you follow this one simple step, you will thank yourself in the future. It helps prevent dark spots and hyper-pigmentation. SPF which is the ‘sun protection factor’ determines how well the sunscreen will protect you. Dermatologists recommend that you wear a minimum of an SPF 30 before stepping out.

Back To TOC

9. Bust The Stress

In today’s modern lifestyle, we all have crazy schedules and stress comes naturally. However, uncontrolled stress can lead to problems like headaches and hypertension. It can also lead to acne, hair fall and graying of hair. These are only a few severe outcomes of stress. So while you can’t entirely avoid bills, work, your life and all the stress that comes with it, you should find a way to manage it. Meditate, drink a nice hot cup of tea, listen to music or make some time for anything you love. Do take a chill pill now and then!

Back To TOC

10. Drink Green Tea

There’s a reason why green tea is so popular amongst health enthusiasts. It perhaps is the healthiest beverage out there and is enriched with nutrients and antioxidants that are incredibly beneficial to the body. It contains ‘catechins’ that are a form of antioxidants that prevent cell damage. It improves blood circulation, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure and improves the health of your skin. The ingredient EGCG that’s present in this tea also helps in weight loss by reducing fat absorption. Make it a habit to brew yourself some green tea!

11. Give Your Face A Massage

This is a D.I.Y secret skin professionals swear by. A good facial massage every other day can reduce the appearance of fine lines, tighten your skin and make it appear more radiant. Besides, it also makes you feel relieved from stress and rejuvenated. The Chinese implement this technique by targeting specific pressure points on the face. You can use lotion or coconut oil so this way you’re moisturizing while massaging your skin.

Back To TOC

12. Pamper Your Tresses

Have you imagined all the sweat, pollution and dirt that is stripping your hair of its natural radiance? Soft, shiny hair is a sign of healthy hair. It’s crucial to take good care of your locks by providing nourishment to your hair. You can do this by oiling your hair with coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil at least once a week. Hair spa treatments are also crucial because oiling alone does not provide enough nourishment. Use hair products that are free from sulfates and other harmful chemicals. Avoid using heat on your hair and try leaving it in its natural state as often as you can without needing to pull out those hair styling tools that only damage your hair to temporarily look good. Invest in a good leave-in conditioner or serum that is enriched with the goodness of Moroccan Argan oil instead. Naturally, glossy hair only adds to your beauty.

Back To TOC

13. Wear Well-Fitting Clothes

What you wear affects how you present yourself. Ensure all the clothes you choose fit you perfectly. Stock your wardrobe up with clothes that complement you and look flattering on your figure. Wearing clothes that are too tight or baggy can be uncomfortable and can add bulkiness to your shape. Clothes that don’t fit you well are only ruining your style. Add in some extra effort to find stuff while you shop, that makes your body look flattering and also allows you to breathe.

Back To TOC

14. Be Well Groomed

Keeping yourself groomed from head-to-toe is essential to your appearance. Doesn’t it also feel great to take care of every bit of you thoroughly? Pamper yourself a little and hit the salon for a mani-pedi and a facial on the weekend. It’s also crucial to look after your eyebrows as they frame your face and we can’t stress enough upon the significance of great eyebrows. Make regular waxing appointments and get rid of excess hair (if this matters to you). On the whole, stay kempt on a daily basis – shower regularly, use a perfume or a deodorant, groom your hair and keep yourself clean.

Back To TOC

15. Take Care Of Your Smile

Your pearly whites need maintenance and your oral health speaks volumes about you. Visit the dentist every six months or so and follow regular routines like brushing your teeth at least twice a day with a good fluoride toothpaste. Floss every day, use mouthwash and keep your smile looking healthy and clean. Choose the right toothbrush and brush your teeth the right way – go up and down in little circular motions. A great smile bestows so many advantages and it also boosts your confidence to a whole new level!

Back To TOC

16. Get Regular Hair Trims

Getting regular trims improves the look and feel of your hair. Make sure you get a trim at regular intervals (at least once in two months). By trimming unhealthy split ends, your hair will have lesser breakage and flyaways, adding volume and shine to it. If you want to grow out your hair, trims are recommended as healthy hair encourages faster growth.

Back To TOC

17. Deal With Those Pesky Pimples The Right Way

Breakouts are natural, and everyone has to go through this ordeal – some more than others. However, there’s no need to fret. Let me tell you, the worst thing you can do to your new friend is trying to get rid of it by popping it. Do not, under any circumstance, touch your pimples or try to squeeze them – you are only going to make the situation worse. Instead, opt for methods that will treat these pesky babies and remove them without leaving a scar. You can dab some tea-tree oil on the zit and be patient until it dries up. You can also use retinol or benzoyl peroxide to get rid of them. Use a face wash with a percentage of salicylic acid, and you can avoid breakouts to a great extent. Patience is key here!

Back To TOC

18. Use Basic Dietary Supplements

A healthy diet is exceptionally vital, but sometimes, we miss out on a whole lot of nutrients because they aren’t a part of our diet. Please note that you can’t take these supplements in place of regular food and survive, but you can add these to your diet plan to enhance their benefits. Popular supplements include Vitamin A, B12, C, D and E, calcium and iron, zinc and specialty products like fish oils and probiotics. Health supplements are essential because factors like alcohol, infections, and allergies rapidly deplete the body of its nutrients.

Back To TOC

19. Cut Down On The Junk

‘Junk’ here refers to a wide variety of items like unhealthy foods, alcohol, cigarettes and all the other trash we mindlessly consume. Putting a full stop on fast food like burgers, french fries, soda and other deep-fried, sugary items will make an enormous difference in your health and overall appearance. It’s also best to cut down on excess sugar, alcohol, and smoking as they are not only hazardous for your vital organs but these are also factors that lead to other issues which will evidently show in your appearance. So cut it all out and maintain a good balance between healthy food and fast food.

Back To TOC

20. Invest In Night Cream

A night cream will help you wake up looking your best. Many of you may ask if a night cream is necessary and the answer is a big yes! During the day, we are all exposed to pollution, smoke, the sun and plenty of free radicals which stress our skin and cause premature aging. You need to utilize night time to rejuvenate your skin by providing it with sufficient nutrients and moisture. You should consider investing in a high-quality night cream that suits your skin type when your skin is in its rest and repair mode. Getting a good night’s rest with a night cream on will drastically change the way your skin looks and feels in the morning!

21. Maintain Good Posture

A proper posture alignment will not only allow you to work more efficiently and avoid strain on your spine, muscles, and ligaments but it also has an impact on how you come off as to those around you. Slouching and a poor posture can make you look a lot older besides damaging your back and adversely impacting your energy levels. Always be mindful of how you sit, walk and move around as this really matters – even when you get older.

22. Whip Up Some DIY Face Masks

What’s better than indulging yourself on a Friday night with a nourishing face mask? Sounds relaxing, right? It’s super simple to make these masks in the comfort of your home with ingredients from your kitchen (if you like keeping it natural). A weekly mask routine helps your skin get some extra care and attention, leaving it energized and rejuvenated. Based on your skin type, prepare a mask that fits your needs, put it on and relax! You can use ingredients like honey, aloe vera, gram flour, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruits, as these are some very popular options for homemade masks.

23. Sleep On A Silk Pillowcase
