Celebrities with bad skin

44 Stars With Acne Who Prove You’re Not The Only One

Miley Cyrus

Growing up onscreen, Miley had to live those awkward teen years in the spotlight. That alone is pretty impressive, but she also did it whilst dealing with grim skin problems. She said: “I used to have really bad breakouts. My mom took me in to see a doctor and we sorted that out. But it made me really insecure.”
However, according to AceShowbiz Miley is tough on what she eats and drinks now to avoid outbreaks. She said she eats: “all organic products”, and that: “getting all those chemicals out of your body is the best thing.”

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham has always had pretty bad skin problems, and apparently was once nicknamed ‘Spotty Spice’ (sad face). However, she couldn’t look MORE flawless today, and apparently it’s all thanks to her legendary dermatologist Dr Lancer (who also treats Kim Kardashian, just FYI). Victoria told Elle magazine: “I swear by Dr Lancer products. He’s a dermatologist that I met in Los Angeles. I started going to him for oxygen facials, and I haven’t looked back.
“I don’t really use products other than his. I keep it quite simple with a really good polish, then an exfoliating cleanse, then I use a nourish cream, which is a really beautiful moisturiser.”

Britney Spears

Britney’s skin now looks like a glowing angels, but a few years ago she went through a rough patch and her skin suffered from it. According to Hollywoodlife, Britney ditched the acne by using laser resurfacing with a dermatologist, a procedure that clears away bad skin cells and prevents an outbreak. Though it’s meant to be pretty pricey, these dermatologists definitely seem to know what they’re doing.

Pixie Lott

Poor old Pixie has had a rough time with acne. Apparently it was particularly bad when she started out, but she has found a way to control it. She told Express online: “I usually find I get breakouts when I am really busy and don’t have much time to look after my skin properly.”

Cameron Diaz

In her book, The Body Book, Cameron doesn’t hold back from admitting exactly what the problem was with her skin. She said: “I did everything I could think of to make it go away… It was awkward and embarrassing and frustrating, and I always felt really bad about myself.”
However, she soon realised that it was probably her diet that was causing the problem. She said after she stopped eating fast food every: “a funny thing happened…my skin began to clear up! My acne wasn’t totally gone, but it was significantly better. Looking back, I realise that I hadn’t needed those prescription drugs, those vials of potions and creams…I hadn’t needed to be angry at my skin or feel bad about myself. I had just needed to LISTEN TO MY BODY.”

Kate Moss

Kate Moss turns to oil as her to-go skin product, and told Glamour: “I love using oils at night, they make you feel like your skin has been restored; oils are just so nourishing for the skin.”

Rihanna has admitted that even she has her off days with pimples, and we love her for it. Speaking to Star magazine, she said: “I have an ugly day every month; pimples on my face, I’m fat and in a bad mood. It’s more like an ugly week.”

Eva Longoria

Eva might have her bad skin days, so she knows the importance of finding a way to beat the blemishes to have healthy skin. According to the Desperate Housewives actor, it’s all about the moisturiser. In an interview with Hello! magazine she said: “Moisturising. Because I fly so much, hydration is important. When you have good skin, everything else kind of falls into place. Also, I use blush with shimmer in it. That way, your skin glows and people notice it.”

Holly Willoughby

Holly’s had her break ups, but she is still absolutely flawless! Much like Cameron, she sees a difference when she is healthier and claims water is the best thing for her skin. She told Marie Claire: “I do drink a lot of water and when I do I notice a huge difference in my skin.”

Amanda Seyfried

Forget healthy food or water, Amanda is ALL about the products to sort out her skin! Speaking to Allure.com, she said: “Every month I tended to get pimples in the centre of my face. I always needed that concealer stick to cover them up. But since I’ve been using the Clé de Peau skin care, I have such clear skin, it’s amazing.”
We know what we’re investing in next!

13 celebrities with acne struggles just like us normal folks

Image zoom Miley Cyrus/ www.instagram.com

Famous people are just like us, which means despite the photoshop and professional makeup jobs there are still a lot of celebrities with acne and who struggle with a variety of skin woes. Since we face a constant flurry of perfectly-curated media, it’s healthy to remind ourselves that even the most gorgeous and privileged among us deal with monthly hormonal breakouts or constant flare-ups of cystic acne. At the end of the day, skin is just skin and it doesn’t care who you are, it will do its thing (which unfortunately isn’t always to our favor).

Rather than unfairly comparing ourselves to heavily-edited images of strangers, we’d rather settle into real talk and share some of the celebrities who have opened up about their skin struggles. Hopefully, this knowledge will help you feel less alone in your skin care journey. In the least, it might further humanize one of your favorite celebrities who previously seemed untouchable. After all, who wants to idolize people who are completely unrelatable (boooring).

As you read this, we encourage you to pour yourself a hot beverage and settle into your couch whilst imagining how flawless you’d look if you had access to celebrity makeup artists and professional lighting. We’re all in this skin game together — some people just have better resources.

Here are some celebrities who know the acne struggle all too well.

While the Riverdale star absolutely glows in her role as Betty, she recently shared with HelloGiggles that she struggles with blemishes and uses a daily acne cleanser as part of her routine (we are still unsure of the brand). So the next time you see Betty killing it, just know that she’s working hard to figure out her skin regimen like you are.

2Katy Perry

Image zoom Al Pereira/WireImage

The “California Girl” herself may look picture perfect, but she’s been very open about her acne woes, her love of Proactiv, and the important role a healthy diet plays in maintaining clear and happy skin. “Bad skin really made me want to hide. I’d wear makeup to bed or stay in if I had a bad breakout,” Perry said. Luckily for us, she hasn’t let those feelings hold her back.

3Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne has been really open about her struggles with acne, and now as the face of Biore skin care, she’s excited to share and experiment with products to treat blemishes that she can share with her fans. One of her favorites is the Biore Acne Charcoal Scrub ($7.59). In this Instagram caption she writes, “It’s only our society and social media outlets like this one that tells us we have to have “perfect skin” to be considered socially acceptable. I’m here to tell you rn FUCK THAT. I’m going to show my skin for what is it and own it. No matter what any1 says.” AMEN.

4Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has a pretty amazing Instagram track record full of photos of her wearing zit creams, pore-cleansing masks, and even finding creative ways to cover up zits (glitter and flowers are a go-to). It’s pretty refreshing seeing such a high-profile pop star confidently own her skin care routine like that.

Another one of our pop faves who knows the power of a good zit cream is none other than Lorde herself. She’s shared Instagram photos of her acne treating process in a casual DGAF way we love so much. “In Paris with my zit cream on,” she writes.

6Kendall Jenner

Just because the Kardashians are known for impeccable skin, doesn’t mean they’re immune to getting a stress breakout. Kendall Jenner has had her fair share of acne flare-ups and deals with it during especially pressure-filled times such as Fashion Week. Just like the rest of us, she knows all too well how skin likes to freak out when we need it not to.”I had such bad acne when I was younger. It completely ruined my self-esteem – I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face,” Kendall told Glamour.

7Cameron Diaz

The poster child of health, Cameron Diaz, has been pretty open about the importance of a balanced diet. She’s shared how her intense junk food phase set off a period of hormonal acne following her teen years. “I didn’t realize all that fried, greasy, processed artificial crap was setting off a hormonal surge that sent my skin into crazy town,’ Diaz told Medical Daily. Obviously food can affect people differently, and Cameron figured out junk food and her skin didn’t get along.

When RiRi’s not busy being the queen of Fenty Beauty, she also understands the struggle of a hormonal breakout. She once told Star Magazine about how she expects her period breakouts like clockwork.”I have an ugly day every month; pimples on my face, I’m fat and in a bad mood. It’s more like an ugly week.” We feel you girl.

9Rachel Bloom

The brilliant Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator Rachel Bloom knows how to write a smart and funny show that hits on the many realities of being a woman. In keeping with her open persona onscreen, she’s not afraid to share her skin struggles offscreen. Bloom shared a very relatable Instagram post while shooting the show that revealed her stress breakout. “The middle of shooting the season (around episode 8) is peak time for my hormones to run amok due to a hectic schedule. Try to spot the bloating, fatigue and zits and win a prize! (But hopefully you won’t thanks to @srollertaylor).”

10Lucy Hale

The Pretty Little Liars star is no stranger to a good zit cream, and she has a sense of humor about the struggles of treating acne in the public eye. She once shared a papparazzi photo on her Instagram that shows her donning zit cream and captioned it: “When you’re caught with zit cream and a really chic outfit.”

11Mindy Kaling

Mindy Kaling shares her whole skin care routine (which includes LASERS) in her hilarious book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? And Other Concerns, and she’s also joked about how annoying it is to deal with acne in her 30s on Instagram. “That zit cream in your 30s life. At least I’m not going on the Tonight Show later today,” she wrote.

12Kerry Washington

While it may seem near impossible to spot a blemish on Scandal’s Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington told Elle how her secret to staving away blemishes is all about the science. “I’ve always understood the connection between science and skin. I’ve been seeing a dermatologist since I was 6 years old for eczema. I really believe in exfoliating and I also use a red light for dealing with bacteria.” Basically, Washington has been on her skin care game since day one.

13Britney Spears

One of the best things about Britney Spears is that despite stardom at a young age, she always keeps it down to earth. When it comes to her skin, Spears told Hollywood Life that laser resurfacing and a sugar-free diet are the ways she’s combated adult acne.

We hope this list makes you feel less alone in your skin care journey, we’re all out here trying to figure it all out too.

January 17, 2018 – 16:47 GMT Emmy Griffiths From dermatologists to cutting out diary products, find out how your favourite stars deal with their acne issues

We’ve all struggled with blemishes at some point or another in our lives, so why should celebrities be any different?” Many actresses, singers and reality show stars have had skin problems in the past, and whether they embraced their flaws or sought advice on how to improve their skin, they have some great suggestions on how to manage that irritating acne.

is all about moisturising to help with blemishes, and previously told HELLO! magazine: “Moisturising. Because I fly so much, hydration is important. When you have good skin, everything else kind of falls into place. Also, I use blush with shimmer in it. That way, your skin glows and people notice it.”

Eva swears by moisturiser

For Cameron, it was all about swapping her diet. Writing about acne in her book, The Body Book, she explained: “I mean, I had terrible, terrible skin. It was embarrassing. I used to eat a cheeseburger and fries every day. But once I stopped, a funny thing happened…my skin began to clear up. My acne wasn’t totally gone, but it was significantly better. Looking back, I realise that I hadn’t needed those prescription drugs, those vials of potions and creams… I hadn’t needed to be angry at my skin or feel bad about myself. I had just needed to LISTEN TO MY BODY.”

Kendall Jenner

After looking stunning on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Kendall owned her skin blemishes, tweeting: “Never let that stop you.” Chatting about her acne on her website back in 2015, she wrote: “I had such bad acne when I was younger; I remember it SO well. I started having skin issues around the 8th or 9th grade. I think I just got acne from being a teenager and simply growing up, which happens to SO many people. But, where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it. It completely ruined my self-esteem.”

Kendall spoke about her blemishes after the Golden Globes

Lorde has previously shared make-up free selfies while using spot cream, and took to Twitter to complain when photos emerged where her blemishes had been photoshopped out. Posting them next to the original snaps, she wrote: “I find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. Remember flaws are OK.”

Natalie Portman

For the Black Swan actress, it was all about cutting out a certain type of food – dairy! Natalie, who is also a vegan, told The Cut: “I cut out dairy and eggs, and I never had a breakout after. That was definitely a discovery.”

The mum-of-four has one man to thank for her beautiful skin, and previously told Elle magazine: “I swear by Dr Lancer products. He’s a dermatologist that I met in Los Angeles. I started going to him for oxygen facials, and I haven’t looked back. I don’t really use products other than his. I keep it quite simple with a really good polish, then an exfoliating cleanse, then I use a nourish cream, which is a really beautiful moisturiser.”

Miley admitted that bad skin was a big problem for her when she was younger, and revealed that she left it up to the professionals to fix after attempting to use products made it worse. She told The Cut: “I had kind of bad skin when I was younger and that was always my insecurity, especially being on TV… You think that’s the only thing people can see… You get out of control, you start reaching for whatever and you end up messing up your face. Let professionals do it and don’t start getting in there and giving yourself scars. All my doctors are like, ‘You try to self-diagnose.'”

Chloe Moretz

Chloe struggled with cystic acne while growing up, and revealed to Allure magazine that she went to Accutane to help clear her skin up. “I dealt with really bad cystic acne growing up,” she said. “I tried changing my diet and my beauty products before going on Accutane. was a long, hard, emotional process.”

Rihanna’s advice is to drink plenty of water and distract from skin problems with a great lipstick. She told Cosmopolitan: “When I feel like my skin has had it, I cut out all alcohol and overdo the water,” adding the a bright lipstick “draws attention away from any flaws”. She also told Star magazine that her skin problems come around every now and again, explaining: “I have an ugly day every month; pimples on my face… It’s more like an ugly week.”

Kerry relies on help from a dermatologist for her problems with eczema. She told Elle magazine: “I’ve always understood the connection between science and skin. I’ve been seeing a dermatologist since I was 6 years old for eczema. I really believe in exfoliating and I also use a red light for dealing with bacteria.”

10 Actually Really Useful Celebrity Acne Tips

Acne. Is there anything worse? It’s uncomfortable and often super hard to get rid of.

But even the world’s most famous celebs, with all their expensive, fancy treatments suffer from skin woes just like you.

But first let’s all have a gander at all the times Kylie Jenner has proved she is Queen of the selfie…

Thankfully they have the money to get all this help and come back to let us know what we can do for cheap. Thanks babes, much appreciated.

1. Demi Lovato’s scars

Demi’s aesthetician Renee Rouleau has a whole bunch of celeb tricks if you’re prepared to wave those dollar bills at her. But for us regular folk, she’s got a cheap solution for getting rid of acne scars. She suggests using a product with glycolic acid to help fade discoloration left behind by spots.

2. Cameron Diaz’s diet

We all know Cam as this super fit babe who’s into health and stuff but apparently there was a time when her diet, and skin, was at an all-time low. She admitted that cutting out our beloved fast food was key. She told Cosmo: “I mean, I had terrible, terrible, skin. It was embarrassing, and I did everything I could think of to make it go away. I tried to cover it with makeup. I tried to get rid of it with medication: oral, topical, even the harshest prescriptions. Nothing helped for very long.”

“Looking back, I realise that I hadn’t needed those prescription drugs, those vials of potions and creams. hadn’t needed to be angry at my skin or feel bad about myself. I had just needed to LISTEN TO MY BODY. … acne was my body’s alarm system, it was way of telling me .”

3. Rihanna trades up booz for water

Getty Images

Ri-Ri loves to party, we all love her for it. But all those dranks can really take a toll on your skin.

She told Cosmo: “When I feel like my skin has had it, I cut out all alcohol and overdo the water. And lipstick is essential—it draws attention away from any flaws.”

4. Emma Stone‘s simple skincare

Getty Images

Can Emma just be our BFF already? She admited that she likes to keep things simple and not overload her skin after suffering from acne for the last ten years. She said: “I’m actually pretty interested in skin care, because I had bad hormonal acne when I was 17, and they put me on Accutane for it. Then, I had stress acne when I was 20, when I did Easy A, which they kindly video-airbrushed out of the movie.

“But I realised how debilitating and embarrassing it can be to have cystic acne. So, I’m really interested in the biology of what makes up acne and how to work on it from the outside, too. For the most part, I use Cetaphil, the bar soap, and then these pads that I get from the dermatologist, and then Elta lotion. Ideally, I’d like to just use single-note products. Usually, I use tea tree oil. I can’t go too crazy, or I’ll get a rash. My skin is really sensitive.”

5. Gisele’s all about the mud

When one of the world’s most famous supermodels gives you skin tips, you listen. She says: “When I was a teenager, I had pimples — oh, God, every time someone looked at my face I thought they were looking at my pimples. I put mud on my face to dry them out, and it worked.”

6. Kim Kardashian’s diagnosis

Kimmy’s fave dermatologist Dr Lancer is pretty much the go-to guy for skin probs in Hollywood and says it’s important to know what kind of acne you have before treating it.

He says: “Acne can take on many different forms, each with a different treatment course. For example, typical acne vulgaris (this involves clogged pores, blackheads and whiteheads) is best treated with exfoliation, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. More severe acne, which involves the appearance of cysts or nodules, is almost never treatable with topical ingredients and must be addressed with medication or antibiotics.”

7. Victoria Beckham’s salmon

Looking flawless seems to be Victoria’s life mission but that can be tricky when you’re feeling crap about your skin. Posh Spice recommends eating salmon. Yup, the fish.

She tells THE EDIT: “I used to have really problematic skin. And said to me, ‘You have to eat salmon every single day.’ I said, ‘Really, every day?’ And he said, ‘Yes; breakfast, lunch or dinner, you have to eat it every single day.’”

Appaz the fish has age-proofing dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) and skin-healing omega-3s in the pink fish. Who knew?

8. Julianne Hough’s ice cubes

Getty Images

The actress and dancer has a nifty trick to calm those angry flare-ups we all have. She says: “If I feel a big pimple coming on, I like to get a really cold washcloth, or even an ice cube, and kind of massage the area a little bit. I feel like that takes the swelling down at least. I don’t want to pop it because then it will be too hard to cover with makeup the next day.”

9. Scarlett Johansson’s cleanliness

Scar-Jo makes sure the tools that she uses to touch her face are super clean.

“I have the same breakouts as everybody else,” she told Elle. “I never go to bed with makeup on, even if I come home at 4 a.m. And I clean my makeup brushes once a week. People don’t realize how dirty their sponges and stuff are! Bacteria — that’s what makes you break out.”

10. Kendall Jenner’s DIY solution

Kenny has concocted her own DIY acne treatment from at-home products. She combines a teaspoon of baking soda, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, and a teaspoon of honey, which is stirred up and then used as a spot treatment to ‘dry out’ the pimples.

According to Joshua Zeichner, the Director of Dermatology Research at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC it’s a good tip: “Baking soda absorbs oil; acids in the lemon juice will exfoliate dead cells from the skin’s surface; and honey will both calm and soothe inflamed skin and may help kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin.”

For more celeb beauty hacks then look no further than right here…

Magazine spreads are filled with celebrities in their perfectly edited skin, trying to pawn on us triple digit-priced face creams we’d have to charge on credit cards and pay off month by month. It wasn’t until Instagram and YouTube where real people took to reviewing these things that we were able to see what was actually worth buying.

That’s because all of the airbrushing and Photoshop editing billboards, magazines, and ads use to hide the truth of these celebrity’s real skin woes from us, making us believe that our skin should always look flawless. Frankly, it’s a lie. Plenty of celebrities have taken to social media to admit that they too suffer from acne, fine lines, enlarged pores, and so on, like the rest of us.

I suppose that should make us feel better. These celebs have millions of followers, yet in some aspects, they’re still just like us — normal human beings. But it’s hard to forget that for the longest time ever the media had us believe that we had to live up to equally flawless beauty pursuits. How unfair is that? And still, plenty of celebs take to social media to post clearly edited, impeccable skin while claiming they have no makeup on. But believe me, this list will definitely have you questioning all of those makeup-free images that some of these celebs have posted, swearing they’re fabulous with or without cosmetics. Let’s keep it real, no one is perfect, and these celebs prove it.

17 Kendall Jenner Debuted Her Acne At The Golden Globes

Kendall Jenner took us by surprise when she showed up recently on the Golden Globes red carpet sporting a blotchy face. It did cause an unexpected amount of support on her side. One follower commented “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand.”

I still can’t tell if this was just a makeup blunder, or if Kendall did this on purpose to strike up a new movement. But either way, it worked in her favor. Instead of feeling embarrassed for walking around her true skin, Kendall turned it around and showed that you should have no shame in rocking your real skin whether you’re on a red carpet or on social media.

16 Bella Thorne Embraces Her Acne

Bella Thorne got her biggest break on Disney’s Shake It Up. And in the tradition of being a Disney star looking to escape the cookie-cutter expectations, she’s gone above and beyond to prove that she’s edgy. Do we believe? Eh, she kind of tries too hard, but eventually, I guess you could say that she finds her way to normalcy.

Beyond loads of eyeliner and foundation, Bella has quietly struggled with her skin. Afer all, she’s only 20, so of course, she’s going to have the occasional unexpected breakout. Her roles usually call for to clean up her beauty looks, and opt for a more glam appeal, so it’s no wonder she rebels off camera. But her constant working and being under so much makeup has been wreaking havoc on her skin.

15 Chrissy Teigen Blames PMS

Teen Vogue

There’s this thing that women go through when we’re menstruating, and Chrissy Teigen recently called awareness to it. ‘Period Skin’ made an appearance on her Snapchat feed when she revealed how her skin was acting up. Hormonal acne is no fun, but it is also super common. It happens when you least expect it, and it can be so annoying.

Taking a candid approach to skin woes isn’t anything new, but it definitely helps us relate more. This kind of acne is uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. At least Chrissy gets us. We ladies have it pretty hard, and guys just really don’t know. It’s not every day that you have a top model admits suffering from painful acne like the rest of us. It’s out of your control sometimes.

14 Even Rihanna Has Scars From Bad Skin Days

Rihanna is known as one of the baddest ladies in the music industry. When she’s not selling out shoes she’s usually on Twitter, telling someone off for even trying to mess with her. It’s actually quite comical how easily she brushes hater off. However, the media rarely shows you how she suffers from texture from the occasional acne as well.

Layering on tons of makeup doesn’t do anything for your skin, but it’s part of Rihanna’s job to keep up a pretty glam image, which usually calls for cosmetics. I’m pretty sure Rihanna doesn’t even care about the public making something out of her battle with acne. Does she even care about anything? However, it does help to know that one of the most successful women in the industry has their own struggle with skin care.

13 Rachel Bloom Shared Her Frustration

It’s hard not to be in love with Rachel Bloom. After all, her musical comedy-drama, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, almost never happened because people were afraid to take a chance on her. She has written, produced, and even sang on her own show. But still, as a super productive woman, Rachel wasn’t too shy to share the truth with us on her social media feed. She gave us a peek at a very large hormonal breakout.

Acne can hit any one of us at any unexpected time. Did we really have to see it? No, but I suppose that I do appreciate Rachel’s honesty when it comes to being a tough, working woman that’s always on-screen that still deals with the occasional breakout.

12 Harry Styles Makes A Case For The Guys

Daily Mail

The better part of One Direction, arguably, has always been Harry Styles. What is it that made him irresistible even to Taylor Swift? It could be his bad boy behavior wrapped in a nerdy, hot exterior. Whatever it is, women aren’t the only ones that suffer from skincare blunders in the public eye.

Harry has never commented on his skin problems, but wherever he is photographed by the paparazzi out and about you can clearly see he has blotchy and texture skin that is most likely from acne. I guess that’s what happens you don’t wear heavy foundation daily. It doesn’t seem to bother Harry, though. He’s remained totally silent to any kind of criticism on his skin. I suppose that’s a good way to go as well, radio silence.

11 Megan Fox Has Texture Just Like Us

Have you ever wondered why everyone in the magazines seems to have flawless skin? It really makes you wonder what you have to do get skin like that… and then they push countless products on and swear it will do just the trick. Advertising can be a scary thing. One of the most beautiful women, Megan Fox, has refuted any kind of evidence that she’s has work done, however, past pictures do look very different from today.

Someone released pre-edited images of her from a Maxim shoot and revealed that she’s still very beautiful, but her airbrushed skin is just that — airbrushed by a team that has mastered Photoshop. She also has uneven skin, which often happens from sun damage. Can we all get a Photoshop team to help us with our similar problems?

10 Lucy Hale Has No Chill About Her Skin Woes

Can we all get a bit of Lucy Hale’s attitude when it comes to skincare on the go? Would any of you go out and run errands with some zit-zapping cream dotted all over your face? I highly doubt it. But whatever got into Lucy Hale this time, keep it coming. Even under the watchful eye of the paparazzi, she refused to let that get in the way of her skincare routine.

If only I was as dedicated. Thankfully, this opened our eyes to the fact that if Lucy can go out and walk her pretty little dog with some zit cream on her face, then why can’t we? Are we ready to see a slew of women walking their pups with sheet masks yet?

9 Kylie Jenner Has Had Too Much Work Done At A Young Age

Does Kylie’s face even move anymore? If you see her on her own Snapchat feed, she makes the same, unmoved expressions. Her face doesn’t move much at all to show any emotion, and that’s not because she’s just not an emotional person. Many professional surgeons have speculated that the youngest Jenner has had way too much work done to her face at such a young age, and it is seriously backfiring.

The occasional zit is normal, but Kylie’s face doesn’t even move with her mouth. Having Botox injections has such side effects, especially when they are overdone. Over the past year or so it has gotten worse. It probably means that she hasn’t cut Botox off at keeps up consistent sessions. This is a problem that older women usually face.

8 Mila Kunis Is No Stranger To Criticism

Daily Mail

Most unedited images of Mila Kunis will really make you wonder what she looks like. When she’s not being glammed up by a team, she often puts little to no effort in her look. She’s always wearing baggy sweats, but she also has very visible pores, dark circles, and uneven skin tone.

We hardly ever see this because she’s always on the red carpet looking stunning. Since having her first child, with sweetheart Ashton Kutcher, Mila has stayed far away from the spotlight. She seems to be enjoying motherhood on her end. But recently she’s been spotted out with Ashton, showcasing her product free skin, and we’re not impressed. Again, the media has lied to us about how beautiful women really are, and refuse to acknowledge that they have skin issues, too.

7 Keke Palmer Shows Us Her Before And After

Keke Palmer is, unfortunately, a sight for sore eyes when she’s not wearing makeup. Her skin is horrible, to say the least. She has acne scars all over, her eyelids and under eyes are rimmed with darkness, and her skin tone is so uneven. But you would have never guessed it because we never saw her like this until she took to Snapchat to post her getting-ready routine with her makeup artist.

The truth is that everyone isn’t perfect, and we’re not all going to look flawless without a good beauty routine. Keke often looks so beautiful and put together, so it’s nice to see that she’s not perfect either. It’s as if we’re brainwashed into to thinking one thing about beauty, and can’t seem to accept the reality: no one has perfect skin.

6 Lorde Suffers From Chronic Acne And Is Upfront About It

Lorde decided to take it upon herself to introduce us to the fact that she suffers from acne. At a concert, this is the same shot a photographer captured her. He posted it online, however, it was all very edited and her skin looked so smooth and silky. Almost immediately, Lorde posted the unedited version and told her fans that she suffers from acne and doesn’t want to fake anything with them.

It was kind of a bold move. I mean, how many of us actually have airbrush apps on our phones to perfect our selfies? It better be most of us, because I sure do! But for an A-list celebrity to call out a photographer for perfectly editing their images and altering them to look perfect is refreshing. It doesn’t happen enough.

5 Miley Cyrus Has Always Hidden Her Zits

We remember Miley Cyrus as a sweet little country girl who suddenly turned into a bad pop star—I mean bad in a good way, of course. She shocked us all. But then images from paparazzi surfaced of Miley’s skin looking very blotchy. She admitted to suffering from acne, and she had suffered for a while with it. Don’t we all, though?

Every now and then she takes selfies with her pimple cream dotted on her face, and her tongue sticking out. But other than that, she hasn’t really said much else. I think it’s important for celebrities to speak up about their skin issues because it helps many of their fans humanize them, and take note that even a big pop star isn’t perfect, why should they think that they have to be?

4 Brandi Glanville’s Skin Looks Artificial

Brandi Glanville has definitely had her fair share of work done, and not because she’s actually admitted to it, but because it is so obvious. Her skin looks horrible. It looks like plastic that’s been pulled back, which tends to happen when you overdue the chemical peels. Professionals have observed that she’s had a lot of work done like filler in the cheeks and lips, as well as a ton of Botox on her forehead.

She is known for her outlandish sense of humor on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but to the rest of us, it’s her outlandish face that’s made her more notable. Leading a life in Beverly Hills perhaps commands you looking a certain way, but I think that it’s safe to say that Brandi may have taken it too far.

3 Cameron Diaz Has Always Silently Struggled

You may not know this, but since she appeared in the spotlight, Cameron Diaz has struggled with horrible cystic and hormonal acne. Cystic acne happens when hair follicles and oil plug into pores which creates mounds of dead skin cells. She finally came out about it in 2014 and blamed it on her love of junk food.

If I had to cut Doritos out of my diet, I’m not sure that I’d be able to make it very long. It took a significant amount of change in her diet and then some fine tuning it to finally get Cameron Diaz in the skin she knew was under all of the issues. But even as an A-lister she had struggled to hide it for so long.

2 Brie Larson Is No Longer Afraid Of Her Skin’s True Nature

Hello Giggles

Brie Larson opened up about her long struggle with acne as a teen, and now as an adult. In 2013 she suffered a red carpet mishap where makeup was just not cutting it for the evening. She had to walk the carpet with a huge pimple on her face that caused her a lot of stress and embarrassment. Well Brie, don’t worry because you’re not alone.

The blemish ended up scarring her personally for quite some time until she realized that she was making it much more of a bigger deal that it needed to be. I think we can all relate, and calmly say that we’ve all been there too. There’s always that very important evening when you suddenly breakout the night before and stress. However, it’s really not as big of a deal as we make it. It’s all in our head sometimes.

1 Angelina Jolie Suffers From A Lot Of Sun Damage

One thing Angelina Jolie didn’t do when she was young, which was, take care of her skin. I mean, do any of us really? Applying sunscreen and lotion can seem tedious when you’re young, but in the long-run, it really pays off. There is so much new evidence of sun damage, and it’s clear on stars like Angelina.

She didn’t wear sunscreen, like ever, and now her face suffers from all of the exposure she has had since she was young. Hopefully, now she’s changed her beauty routines, but it’s really easy to forget how necessary protection from sun damage is. It really is just another simple step you could be adding to your beauty routine, and plenty of retailers now offer options for all skin types.

Rumor has it that Sean “P. Diddy” Combs filed a lawsuit against Proactiv when he experienced breakouts after using the product. Daniel Radcliffe has also been quoted to say that he was self-conscious about his acne. “I had terrible acne and had to go on medication. You could put me beside anyone and my arm will be whiter than theirs,” he shared.

Celebrity Acne Scar Treatment

What do Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears have in common with 85% of all teens? Acne! They bear the acne scars to prove it. Dr. Simon Ourian believes the Coolaser is the most effective available treatment to deal with this affliction.

May 04, 2009 — Doctor Simon Ourian, Medical Director of Epione Beverly Hills, located in the exclusive shopping, restaurant and hotel enclave in Los Angeles, California treats acne and acne scars every day. His patients, both men and women, tell him how they suffered as teens with active acne and continue to suffer with the resulting scars. Doctor Ourian empathizes more than they might imagine because he too was prone to acne in his younger days. “I had acne as a teen,” says Doctor Ourian, “not as bad as some but enough to cause me great embarrassment. In fact, it’s one of the reasons I decided to practice as a cosmetic physician.”

“Flawless skin is a rather rare commodity,” continues Doctor Ourian, “you’d be surprised what many top actors, actresses and models have to go through to cover up their flaws. Some employ literally teams of people to do their makeup and ensure that they’re shot at the best angle and in only the most flattering light.”

“For some, such as Edward James Olmos, their acne scars are quite apparent. Brad Pitt is one of the best actors in Hollywood and one of the most famous people on the planet but it appears obvious to me that he was an acne sufferer. Just imagine how difficult it is for women such as Cameron Diaz, Jessica Simpson or Britney Spears. Like it or not, female celebrities are held to an almost impossible standard of beauty.”

Doctor Ourian gives a brief description of acne and its causes: “People who’ve never had acne may not know that its one of the most common skin diseases. Generally it develops in the teens but can continue for some into their 20’s and beyond. Acne results from the overproduction of oil by the sebaceous glands that then mix with dead skin cells to clog the pores of the skin. These clogs are a breeding ground for bacteria which in turn may leak to neighboring tissue causing redness, swelling and bumps or pimples.”

Patients that suffered from acne are likely to have acne scars; for some these scars can be almost disfiguring. These scars may vary widely in type, color and shape. Doctor Ourian utilizes the Coolaser as part of an individualized treatment protocol designed for each of his patients. “With the Coolaser,” explains Doctor Ourian, “I can literally scan down the surface of the skin so that the acne scars are less deep. I’ve worked hard over the years to develop the technology and technique that allows me the control necessary to remove only as much as needed, maintaining as much of the healthy skin as possible. Depending on the severity and depth of the acne scars I may inject a dermal filler such as Juvéderm, Radiesse or Restylane.”
According to Doctor Ourian, “The Coolaser is a very safe procedure and the discomfort is usually temporary and we prepare the patient’s skin with a topical anesthetic first. Most patients report that it feels like the snapping of a rubber band.”

“I have been helping patients with acne scars for more than ten years,” concludes Doctor Ourian, “and I believe the Coolaser achieves results superior to other laser or treatment modalities, especially when used in conjunction with a dermal filler.”

8 times celebrities got real about their skin problems

Because skin problems come for the rich and famous as well.

When you have a skin problem it can feel like no one else does, it’s embarrassing and a source of insecurity. In a world of airbrushing and incredible makeup skills, it’s easy to forget that celebrities are prone to bad skin just as much as us. Victoria Beckham

When she first rose to fame the press would occasionally brand her “spotty spice” when a photo showing her acne would come out – charming – but bad skin has been something she has suffered with for most of her life. In Vogue she penned an open letter to her younger self mentioning her acne and the “complete hell” that was secondary school. As she has got older her skin is still prone to spots, but she says the best advice she ever got was to “eat salmon everyday”. Yes, according to VB and a quite a few dermatologists eating salmon as part of one meal a day is the secret to a spot-free complexion.

Cynthia Nixon

Has become quite the spokesperson for dealing with rosacea. As it’s so often mistaken for acne, getting treatment can take a long time, Cynthia was in her forties by the time she was diagnosed. She spoke to Marie Claire about the psychological affects bad skin can have on you “When our skin looks bad, we just feel bad about ourselves…For whatever psychological reason, we value clear skin. And for me personally, when my skin is looking good, it just makes it that much easier to go out in the world”.

Cameron Diaz

The actress has spoken in the past about when she first started modelling and acting, and how she was the “poster girl for being both skinny and unhealthy” and her spots showed it, she described it as being “awkward and embarrassing and frustrating”. She soon realised that her bad fast food diet was the main cause.

LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn has always been open about her battle with eczema and how she had to sell her image just as much as her voice. She’s said she used to wear two pairs of tights onstage to cover her legs. After years of trying different medication, she finally found one that helped clear it up.

Winnie Harlow

The supermodel is the perfect example of how a skin condition doesn’t have to hold you back. Winnie was diagnosed with vitiligo when she was just four. Speaking at the Dove Self-Esteem Project panel, she said “I don’t actually think I’m ugly – I think I’m beautiful. So where did I get this idea I wasn’t? From someone else.” Well said.

Katy Perry

She credits her makeup artist for her flawless look these days.
